The night of 10th/11th August 2025 will forever remain engraved in the collective memory of Danyore as one of its darkest and most heart-rending moments. Without warning, a massive landslide crashed into the Danyore nullah, striking mercilessly at the heart of a noble community effort. At that time, a large number of selfless volunteers — the true sons of Danyore — were toiling deep into the night to re-carve the main water channel that sustains Central Danyore’s very lifeline.
A social media post at 8:00 a.m. on August 11 brought the painful clarity of what had transpired. The calamity had claimed the lives of seven young men, all of them engaged at the most vulnerable section of the channel — a section completely obliterated earlier by erosion and landslip caused by the furiously erratic flow of the nullah below. In a race against time, they had labored to rebuild the structure and restore the water supply before Central Danyore went completely dry. Yet in another Facebook post, the names of the martyrs and the injured given is as follows:
Deceased:
Pyar Ali, Naik Alam, Adam Ali Izhar Din, Ufaq, Izhar, Dildar Hussain
Injured:
Anwar and Dildar Hussain
So ebullient, so empathetic, and so driven by their sense of duty to the community, these youths worked unflinchingly through the midnight hours. It was while they were working selflessly in that treacherous spot that the heavy mass of earth above them gave way, thundering down and burying them beneath its deadly weight.
Among the martyrs was Dildar Hussain, a spirited and energetic young man whose dedication to public welfare was well known. In a video message recorded not long before the tragedy, he had voiced his deep concern over the disconnection of Danyore’s waterscape, warning of the devastation it would cause — crops withering, plants dying, and the community’s life source drying up. He called passionately for collective action to restore the channel. It was this very spirit of volunteerism, this deep humanistic concern, that drove him and his companions to labor in peril, a devotion that ultimately cost them their lives.
The collective funeral prayers for these martyrs will be offered at the Danyore Polo Ground at 9:00 a.m. today. Their loss is not only a personal tragedy for their families but a wound to the entire community.
This heartbreaking event also underlines a stark truth: had adequate heavy machinery been available for the work, these precious lives might have been saved. In the wake of this disaster, it is imperative that the highest tributes be paid to these martyrs — through public recognition, official awards, and a lasting memorial that honors their unmatched bravery and selflessness. The bereaved families, many of whom have lost their principal breadwinners, must be provided with adequate compensation without delay. The community too must rise to the occasion, extending every possible support to those left behind in this hour of grief.
Deep and heartfelt condolences are extended to the grieving families. May Almighty Allah grant them the courage and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and may He bless the departed souls with eternal peace and the highest place in Jannah. Ameen.
